This weekend’s weddings were both beautiful and fun.  Read our recaps of our weddings performed on October 23rd and 24th below.

Monica and Jefferson, 10/23/09 – Brookside Gardens, Wheaton, MD

DJ: Michael Bell

The setting: The gorgeous Brookside Gardens, with its spectacular landscaping that went on for acres — the ceremony was held outside in the Fragrance Garden and couldn’t have been any more beautiful.

The first dance: “You and I” by Ingrid Michaelson

The music: Lots of Latin music — salsa and merengue — to honor the bride’s Colombian heritage, as well as 80s hits.

A unique touch: Orange was the primary color used in the wedding and was reflected in the stunning wildflower bouquets and paper lanterns.

A special moment: Seven of the couple’s friends read special blessings during the ceremony, making it even more personal and meaningful.

Lesley and Demetrio, 10/24/09 – Stone Manor Vineyard, Lovettsville, VA

DJ: Anthony Simpson

The setting: The warm, intimate Stone Manor Vineyard and Orchard provided an atmosphere of rustic elegance.

The first dance: “As Time Goes By” by Jimmy Durante

The music: Lots of classic vocalists and 80s dance hits — the guests responded with lots of energy and danced all night!

A fun moment: The best man and one of the groomsmen planned a very funny toast.  It was a complete surprise to the bride and groom, and a huge hit with everyone in attendance!

Valerie and Chris, 10/24/09 – Sequoia Restaurant, Washington, DC

DJ: Michael Bell

The setting: Sequoia Restaurant in Georgetown looked incredible, with blue feathered fiber optic chandeliers and contrasting orange flowers.

The first dance: “You are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne

The food: The couple selected an incredible seasonal menu with lots of influences.

A fun moment: “Call to the Post” from the Kentucky Derby was played just before the introductions of the bride and groom, in honor of the groom’s Kentucky heritage.

Outstanding vendors: Gretchen Wade from Dragonfly Events did a wonderful job coordinating all of the evening’s events, and Annette Baudeloque of Classic Creations Photographer was also great!
