When I'm not deejaying weddings, I can be found: Spending time with my wife and son, producing electronic and sample-based music, writing hip hop poetry, and performing with my funk/rock/metal/hip hop/jazz fusion band FUNKMNKYZ!
My other interests: Reading, cooking, skateboarding, mountain biking, video games.
Favorite music artists: Outkast, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, A Tribe Called Quest, Mozart, The Roots, Lady Gaga, Rage Against the Machine, Stevie Wonder, Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, Flying Lotus, Herbie Hancock, Parliament, Jimi Hendrix, MF DOOM.
First dance songs I'm enjoying lately: “Let’s Stay Together” (Al Green), “The Way You Look Tonight” (Frank Sinatra), “Wonderful Tonight” (Eric Clapton), “By Your Side” (Sade).
Causes I support: Cancer awareness, AIDS awareness, Habitat for Humanity, unity!
A quote I live by: "Nothing is really over until you stop trying. Never give up!"
Best advice I ever received: "Always work hard, but strive to work smart."
Seven words that describe me: Positive, enthusiastic, articulate, creative, energetic, determined, motivated.
Five prized possessions I couldn’t live without: My Yamaha S80 keyboard, Maschine, my Sennheiser 835 microphone, FL Studio 9 software, my Playstation 3.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me: I know how to juggle, and once played a jester at a charity event.
On being a wedding DJ: "I have loved music since I started playing piano at age five, then on to concert band at 10 and marching band percussion at 11. This turned into playing in a jazz band, then a hip hop group, and currently my fusion band of the past five years. The culmination of these factors is a wonderful energy. Every time I DJ, it gives me the opportunity to share this positive, shining energy with people on their special day. The more I perform, the stronger this amazing feeling becomes. I look forward to continuing to build and share this energy with many happy couples and their guests for years to come."
