When I'm not deejaying weddings, I can be found: Helping individuals and families find a new home via my property management career, volunteering at my daughters' school, spending time with my family, and trying to finish writing my first novel.
My other interests: Fishing, following my Chicago sports teams, and hanging out with my wife and two little girls.
Favorite music artists: Michael Jackson, Phyllis Hyman, Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, Metallica, Jimmy Cliff, Miles Davis, Parliament, The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Jay-Z, the Roots, Bob Marley, John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder.
First dance songs I'm enjoying lately: "If I Ain't Got You" (Alicia Keys), "You Send Me" (Sam Cooke), "Dig" (Incubus), "Love Ballad" (LTD feat. Jeffrey Osborne), "Faithfully" (Journey).
Causes I support: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, March of Dimes, Toys for Tots, Girl Scouts of America.
A quote I live by: “Treat everyone as a gentleman, not because they are but because you are.”
Best advice I ever received: “Never stop dating your spouse.”
Seven words that describe me: Helpful, reliable, friendly, fun loving, flexible, passionate, perfectionist.
Five prized possessions I couldn’t live without: My iPod Touch, a Valentine’s day card my daughter made for me when she was four, my BlackBerry, my handwritten letter of inspiration my Dad sent to me in 2009, and the corkboard next to my bed where I keep the Valentine’s card, the letter of inspiration, and other important items I want to look at every day.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me: I've been white water rafting.
On being a wedding DJ: “I love music. I love meeting new people. I love seeing two people in love. I love seeing family and friends get together and have the time of their lives. Being a DJ means that all of these things I love so much are combined every time I perform at an event, and I couldn’t be luckier. Deejaying weddings is not only fun, but I feel it also strengthens my own marriage and makes me a better husband and father. Every time I watch a couple exchange their wedding vows, it takes me back to the euphoric feeling I had on my own wedding day.”
